Det med 123448527

Fotografen David Horovitz la for et par måneder siden en beskjed ut på nettet hvor han fortalte om sitt nyeste fotoprosjekt. Prosjektet gikk ut på å følge med Xiu Xiu på deres Europeiske turné, og ta bilder av bandet på forskjellige steder, i forskjellige land, i forskjellige situasjoner, osv. Om fansen ville være del av prosjektet, var alt de måtte gjøre å sende David en mail markert "SEND ME A XIU XIU PHOTOGRAPH", og de ville på slutten av turnéen motta et bilde via e-mail. Dette bildet ville David så slette fra sin egen datamaskin, slik at den som mottok mailen ville være den eneste i verden med bildefilen. Avtalen var at om personen som mottok bildet la det ut på nettet, ville de tagge det "123448527", slik at man med å google dette nummeret ville kunne finne alle bildene fra turnéen på de forskjellige nettsidene og -brukerne av fansen.

Nå har jeg altså mottatt mailen, samt et bilde av Angela Seo fra Xiu Xiu:

Hello!

I have just left Xiu Xiu in Frankfurt, and I am writing this in Amsterdam.

Here are photo/photos from the recent Xiu Xiu European tour.

As of today there are no images when you search for this.

If you upload these photos to the internet (blog, tumblr, facebook, flickr, etc...) please tag the photo with that number. You can also title the photo with the number, put it in the description, and even rename the photo to: 123448527.jpg.

Just to make it clear, what I am trying to do is to make the photo that you upload end up in search results. Whether it is a search in Flickr or more broadly in Google. People can search for it, and find all the photos of the tour, and also, find themselves on your blog. The tag becomes a web of interconnecting different personal sites.

Also:

I am deleting my copy of the photo. I'll also delete the email too later, so that I have no copy of it. You will have the only copy, and you will have the power/responsibility of the photos future. You are granted all rights to it. You can print it, distribute it, etc... It is yours.

Lastly: if you upload this, send me a link, and I'll post it later on the Xiu Xiu blog or somewhere.
